HISTORY OF POSWFL

In 1992, having completed his subspecialty orthopedic training and his commitments to the United States Navy, Dr. Brett Shannon moved to Fort Myers, bringing his expertise and passion for treating children with orthopedic conditions. He embraced the challenge of being the first pediatric orthopedic surgeon to practice in SW FL.

He was joined by Dr. John Churchill and together in 2002, they founded “Peds Ortho.” They created a foundation of service and orthopedic care for children that has grown to multiple office locations and a strong affiliation with neighboring Golisano Children’s Hospital. Still the only pediatric orthopedic center in SW FL, Peds Ortho now has five fellowship-trained pediatric orthopedic surgeons.
