In 1992, Dr. Shannon relocated to Fort Myers, having completed his subspecialty orthopedic training and fulfilled his commitments to the United States Navy. Carrying his profound expertise and a heartfelt dedication to treating children with orthopedic conditions, he boldly took on the role of Southwest Florida’s first pediatric orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Churchill later joined him, and in 2002, they laid the foundation for “Peds Ortho.” Together, they established a legacy of excellence in pediatric orthopedic care which has flourished into multiple office locations and a robust partnership with nearby Golisano Children’s Hospital. As the area’s sole pediatric orthopedic center, Peds Ortho now proudly boasts a team of five highly specialized pediatric orthopedic surgeons, all of whom have completed fellowships in the field.
