Neuromuscular Conditions

Some children are born with or develop conditions affecting how their brain and nervous system control their muscles and movement. These children often require special care and attention during their growth to give them optimal function and independence as an adult. While surgery is sometimes necessary, it can often be avoided through dedicated therapy, bracing, stretching casts, injections, medications and many other therapies that are constantly being developed. Routine surveillance is a critical part of care to allow us to intervene early with alternative therapies whenever possible. Our goal is to work together as a team to help your child live their best life.

Our Neuromuscular Clinic

Our dedicated neuromuscular clinic allows our team to give your child the attention and treatment they deserve. The clinic allows us to prepare for your child’s visit by reviewing notes from your primary care provider and other specialists so that we are prepared to address your child’s unique needs.

We are also working to bring in other providers that will often be needed to help your child live their best life such as physical and occupational therapy, prosthetics and orthotics (braces), wheelchair vendors, etc. We are also working towards providing a clinic with access to multiple physicians including Pediatric Orthopedics, Pediatric Neurology, Pediatric Neurosurgery and Pediatric Physiatry.
